Although their storytelling styles differ greatly, the films *Amores perros* (which we screened recently) and *Y tu mamá también*—both released in the early 2000s—marked a fresh start for Mexican cinema. Alfonso Cuarón’s road movie, told with such Lebenslust, succeeds in creating a wonderful, emotional, funny, and personal tale while also addressing class differences, politics, and life in Mexico. You will leave our cinema cheerfull at least.
