A bit more than ten years after the squatting of the former Bethanien Hospital and its renaming as the Georg-von-Rauch-Haus, this fictionalized documentary revisits thirteen former squatters—along with Karl Marx (who soon departs again) and, above all, his daughter Jenny. Narrative film elements bring to life the dreams and ideas of the individuals portrayed—and of the '68 generation as a whole. The film documents their life paths and current circumstances, ranging from a heavy drinker and an entrepreneur to the "last rebel," Rio Reiser, who also provides the film's score.
