Yorgos Lanthimos has created an idiosyncratic, equally cinematic and fantastical world. It all begins with the resurrection of the young Bella (Emma Stone) in the laboratory of the rather eccentric scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Bella's energy seems limitless, so she soon embarks on a round-the-world journey of liberation.
