So confident was he in the talent of Timothée Chalamet that Bob Dylan gave this film his approval in advance. And rightly so. To be sure, James Mangold's biopic presents only one aspect of 1960s New York and Dylan's meteoric rise, but the way in which he does so is amazing. Chalamet's pluck in deciding to sing Dylan's songs is richly rewarded. The cast also includes Edward Norton, Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro.
